Design Georgia's license plate by Friday June 17!

Only nine days remain for artwork to be accepted by the Friday, June 17 deadline for the Department of Revenue’s License Plate Design Contest. The Department is seeking an original design which will appear on the new, general issue Georgia license plate that is scheduled to be produced in 2012.

“The artwork that the Department has received thus far demonstrates an array of talent and creativity,” State Revenue Commissioner Doug MacGinnitie said today. “We encourage anyone with creative talent to submit as many pieces of original artwork as they would like in advance of online voting by the public.”

The design contest seeks original artwork for the new license plate and is open to all Georgia citizens or companies authorized to do business in the state. The public will be given the opportunity to select three semifinalists via an online vote from June 24-July 8, 2011. Following the conclusion of online voting, the three semifinalists will then be presented to Governor Nathan Deal, who will announce the winning design on July 15. The winning artist will participate in the announcement ceremony, along with Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Commissioner MacGinnitie.

Complete rules, guidelines, design template, and an entry-waiver form for the contest may be accessed here: https://etax.dor.ga.gov/
Contest submissions may be sent to:

What do I need for the end of the semester?

1. Your mini-book. Even if it is not 100% finished you need to be here with it, and a prototype so we can envision how it is going to look.
2. A CD containing your artist statement
your resume
a key to your ten LOAD jpgs
a folder containing ten jpgs 300 dpi up to 2000 pixels wide. Label each image
Example: 01Thalken__Nail_PackageLG.jpg
a folder containing the same ten images scaled down to 72 dpi maximum
900 pixels wide. Label each image
Example: 01Thalken__Nail_PackageSM.jpg
I really do need them!

Why are seniors being invited to the Internship blog?

I plan to post any and all job leads on GRD4300.blogspot.com
Generally speaking, firms that are busy are likely to be looking for interns AND employees.
It's also a place for you to share info with each other and with the rising seniors about positions.

Could you earn the badge, if they didn't kick you out first?
